I'm really pleased to be capturing Sun FM's Wedding of the Year. Carly and Phil came to me saying they didn't want a traditional set of images for their wedding and that they'd like their images to reflect them. Well, their wedding is in Sunderland in July and coincides with the Sunderland Airshow so I'm full of ideas.
In the meantime we met up in Durham City for an evening photoshoot. Surrounded by crowds, Carly and Phil were so easy to capture. They were so relaxed and a lot of fun to be with!
So roll on July! It's going to be a lot of fun!

Pre-wedding photoshoot: Helena and Kevin's shoot at Druridge Bay
Regular readers of my blog will know that I've recently talked about the importance of pre-wedding photoshoots. And Helena is my perfect example of a nervous bride worried about getting her photo taken. Right from day one she said that the photos are important to her but that she hates having her photo taken and is really nervous about it.
Sure enough, when we met at Druridge Bay in Northumberland for her and Kevin's shoot she looked ill with nerves. But it didn't take long for those nerves to dissipate. From my point of view she was a complete natural and was actually so easy to work with. I'm really looking forward to capturing their wedding June up in Amble, Northumberland.

Pre Wedding Photoshoot - Kelly and Dean's Early Morning Photoshoot at Jesmond Dene
Kelly and Dean wanted a family orientated pre wedding photoshoot. Jesmond Dene was somewhere which was quite special to them both so early on Easter Monday we met up for a bit of fun, some football and a date with a friendly goat!
Kelly and Dean will be married at the truly fabulous Woodhill Hall in Otterburn, Northumberland later this year so look out for their images here soon.

Pre Wedding Photoshoot - Zara and Jonathan's Cemetery Photoshoot
Now, as a wedding photographer, I revel on how no two weddings are the same. Each wedding is styled different and it makes the job so interesting. But every so often you get to work with a couple who completely blow your mind with the plans and vision they have for their wedding. Let me introduce Zara and Jonathan. Now, I'm not going to give any spoilers to their wedding later this year (watch this space!) but believe me, over the past 12 months since I first met them I've been left open mouthed with the plans Zara has to make her day not just special to her and Jonathan but also spectacular and, importantly for her, something her guests are going to love and talk about for years.
So, it came as no surprise when Zara approached me saying she wanted to do something different for her pre-wedding photoshoot. I'd had an idea in my head for a while to do a photoshoot in the classic Jesmond Cemetery designed by John Dobson, the architect whose work can be seen all over Newcastle upon Tyne. Zara loved the idea so we met up on a chilly Saturday morning and had a stroll around the cemetery. If you haven't been there before, I recommend you park up and have a look around. It is simply stunning in there.
Anyway, here are a selection of shots from the day. Look out for Zara and Jonathan's wedding here later this year.
